Right Laser Cut is proud to celebrate the 35th Annual DLRA Speed Week, held at Lake Gairdner in March 2025. After years of weather interruptions, this year finally delivered several full days of racing on the salt. Despite high winds that forced pauses mid week, competitors still had ample opportunities to run, and the event once again showcased the incredible dedication of volunteers, officials, and race crews who keep this unique motorsport alive. The atmosphere was electric, with entrants ranging from backyard builders to professional teams, all united by their passion for speed on the legendary salt flats.
The official DLRA report highlights just how successful 2025 was. A total of 72 records were achieved, with 53 Australian marks broken and 19 brand new national records set. Standout moments included Eddie Zeller recording speeds over 295 mph, impressive streamliner and lakester runs, and junior entrant Banjo McGrath claiming three records in one week. These achievements underline the event’s reputation as one of the most exciting gatherings in Australian motorsport, where innovation and determination combine to push machines to their limits.
As a South Australian business, Right Laser Cut was proud to contribute as a sponsor of Speed Week 2025. Our support reflects our commitment to precision, resilience, and community values that mirror what Speed Week represents. We believe in backing local events that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and engineering excellence, and Speed Week is the perfect example of those qualities in action.
We were also honoured to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the DLRA, signed by President Greg Wapling, recognising our assistance and support in helping make Speed Week 2025 a success. For us, this recognition is more than just a certificate—it’s a symbol of the shared dedication between racers and makers. Just as competitors rely on accuracy and detail to set new records, we bring the same focus to our laser cutting work here in Adelaide. Precision, durability, and craftsmanship define both the racing community and our business, making this partnership a natural fit.
Speed Week continues to be an event that draws people together racers, families, volunteers, and supporters all sharing the same enthusiasm for pushing boundaries. Right Laser Cut is proud to stand alongside this community and to play even a small part in its ongoing story. We look forward to supporting future events and celebrating even more achievements on the salt.
